On Tuesday, February 3rd, the Harrison School gym was filled with the sounds of music. Fourth and fifth graders performed in a dress rehearsal for their peers, in anticipation of their performance for family and friends later that evening at Mount Pleasant Middle School. The orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Vatoci, the band, under the direction of Mr. Palatucci and Mr. Hegedus, and the chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Matten, really rose to the occasion! After an unplanned long weekend (snow day!) and a delayed opening, one would have thought the singers and musicians would be rusty and unprepared. But that was simply not the case. Inspired (and inspiring) selections mesmerized both the afternoon and evening audiences. The performers not only had the satisfaction of performing well, but learned first hand the value of hard work and practice. As you view the photos, enjoy listening to"Hot Cup of Cocoa", sung by the chorus, the performance of which has become an annual tradition at Harrison School:
