Squeals of delight and joyful faces of children of all ages filled the fields of Harrison School on a beautiful afternoon in April. Kites, generously supplied by the PTA, took to the sky as eagerly as legs took to running on the ground. The cold, long winter was forgotten in the welcome of the warm sun and a gentle breeze. Prior to enjoying the glories of a spring day, students and staff gathered in the gym to recognize sample "Wonder" Invention projects that were created over the last several months. The Harrison Family also sang "Happy Birthday" to all those children celebrating their special days in March, April or May. Yet, even as the smiles spread, many people took a moment to remember that this wasn't all just fun and games. An envelope sat in the office, filled with dollar bills donated by the children. The money will be sent to Nepal for the victims of the recent earthquake. After all, what better way to celebrate Earth Day than to recognize our neighbors all over the earth?
