    • Pens left in classroom to avoid loss, teachers have a class set of numbered pens to distribute to students during class
    • Chargers left at home
    • Meeting with parents for instruction on charging, procedures, etc
    • 15 Loaners in media center for students who leave their device at home or is not working
    • Used Dell for only one year and was a disaster
    • Began using Surface since September 2015
    • Extensive training for students
    • Using OneNote for classroom, most teachers love it, some using Edmodo
    • 10 percent screen breakage,  about 60, even with UAG armored case
    • $26 insurance cost to parent for added insurance
    • Office mix uses voice possibly screen casting
    • 6th grade teachers first met weekly,  7th also,  now 6th grade biweekly
    • Used a Parent link to survey parents
    • Parent/student information night prior to device distribution. If the student came with the parents they would receive their device that night.
    • MS insurance coverage covers tech support
    • Parent aides from media center are first line of tech support when device needs attention
    • Students that don't take device home drops it at media center at the end of the day
    • Tech dept Used invisible pen to mark the device case to prevent students from turning in other students' device (ultraviolet light to expose the ink)
    • Every classroom was using the device in some form or another. Students were excited to share what they were doing.
