Ribbon Cutting CeremonyOn Monday, October 5, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. more than 250 members of the community, town officials, students, faculty, administrators and alumni, gathered at the main entrance of Livingston High School for a ribbon cutting ceremony, signifying the completion of the construction and renovation project.Nearly 95,000 square feet have been added to Livingston High School in the form of the new Centers for Fitness and Wellness and Research and Science. Nearly 68,000 square feet were renovated. The auxiliary gymnasium and locker rooms have been demolished and were converted into two state-of-the-art television studios to meet the needs of the growing number of students interested in the ins and outs of TV production. The old main gym locker rooms, offices and strength training facilities have been renovated into male and female locker rooms, new faculty offices, a new training room, as well as additional team rooms. Classrooms were renovated in the music and technology education departments and a new family and consumer science lab was created. Students will dine in their expanded student cafeteria while faculty members have a new workroom and dining area. The auditorium was renovated and now serves as a performing arts facility, not only for student functions, but for the community. Nurses are tending to the needs of ill or injured students in their renovated nurse’s suite and athletes are enjoying their new track and turf field and the Main Office has been renovated for safety and “customer service” purposes.
