March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' Birthday! In 2017 he would have been 113 years old! To honor his incredible legacy and contribution to children's literature, schools around the country participate in activities focused on his books and reading. At Harrison, students gathered in groups to share Yertle the Turtle. They discussed the meaning and message of this compelling tale, and colored bookmarks to remind them of the story. Students then read poems with one another and listened to the kindergartners singing a special ode to the beloved author. What a great reminder of the power of reading and books!
