Common Driver Education Questions
-
If my child turns 16 before the NJMVC Exam is given in Driver Education class, can he/she take the test earlier?
If a student turns 16 before the NJMVC Knowledge Test is given in Driver Education class and he/she wishes to take it sooner, yes - the test can be taken with a local driving school. You should reach out to the driving school directly to schedule your child's test.
However, please note that students only need to have their permit for 6 months prior to taking the road test upon turning 17 years of age.
Students are still responsible for all assignments in their Driver Education class even if he/she passes the Knowledge Test prior to the end of the course.
